We are guided by Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” and “People of Action.” Our members work together to create meaningful impact in our local community while also supporting initiatives that reach across the globe. Through service projects, youth programs, grants, and partnerships with local organizations, we strive to improve lives and strengthen our community.

Community Support

We proudly partner with local organizations and initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community. Through grants, volunteer service, and financial support, we help strengthen programs that provide essential services and opportunities.
Some of the organizations and projects we support include:

  • Nevada County Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Council
  • Bright Futures for Youth
  • Interfaith Food Ministry

These partnerships allow us to extend our impact and support organizations doing important work throughout our region.

Youth & Education

Supporting young people and helping them reach their potential is one of our club’s top priorities. We invest in leadership development, education, and opportunities that allow local students to grow into the next generation of leaders.
Our youth-focused initiatives include:
  • Sponsoring Interact students to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) to develop leadership skills and service-minded values
  • Sponsoring year-long cultural exchange opportunities through the Rotary Youth Exchange program
  • Supporting youth leadership and civic engagement programs such as YMCA Youth & Government
  • Hosting and supporting youth competitions including speech and music contests
Through these programs, we aim to inspire young people to lead, serve, and make a difference in their communities and beyond.

International Service

While our club is deeply rooted in our local community, we also recognize that Rotary is a global network dedicated to solving challenges worldwide.
Members of the Rotary Club of Grass Valley South participate in international service projects that provide humanitarian assistance and long-term solutions in communities abroad.
Our club has supported initiatives including:
  • The Rotary Youth Exchange program, connecting students and cultures around the world
  • Humanitarian support for organizations like Operation Snow Leopard
  • Additional service projects and partnerships in Africa and Mexico
